CAMPIN 2013 at the WHC

Since we had to postpone the Saugus trip and are unable to camp at Valley Pines, we're having a "Camp In" at the Weymouth Heights Club on Saturday, March 2nd.

This event will start at 3 PM on Saturday, and scouts will stay overnight. The doors will be locked at 10 PM and scouts must be picked up by 8 AM Sunday.   We will serve pizza, soda, bug juice, water, and snacks.

The plan is to work on an hour of advancement for scouts working toward Tenderfoot/Second Class/First Class badges, after which we will have LEGO’s\ Board Games\ Video Games\ and a movie.

Scouts should bring a sleeping bag. pillow and pad (we will be sleeping on floor).

Due to wind blown trees and other storm damage we will be unable to camp at Valley Pines until we have an opportunity to clean up. Please check back for an announcement when we schedule a work party.

Troop 2 weekly update

Tonight’s meeting is a Gym Night. Scouts should arrive at 8:00 PM at The First Church Weymouth Heights, and should be picked up promptly at 9:00 PM.

Please wear gym clothes, and do not bring personal sports equipment or basketballs. All equipment for gym nights is provided by the Troop.

Scouts and Adult leadership participate in the gym.

If you’d like to stick around for the hour, please stop by the kitchen area to discuss upcoming activities and opportunities to help out the Troop.

Bottle and Can sorting - Thursday evenings: 7 PM WHC Garage – Processing returnables for redemption.

We need adult volunteers from our organization to help with this program, as this is our fundraising source and assures costs are kept to a minimum. If this program is unsuccessful, other funding sources will be necessary, and costs for our programs will rise.

Currently less than 8 volunteers participate.

We need more support from the group to make this program successful. Please see Mr. Chase if you have any questions or can help us out.

Assistance can be as simple as dropping off empty case boxes, helping sort on Thursday, picking up the materials on Wednesdays, or dropping off materials at the redemption center.

Scout Sunday services at the First Church, Weymouth Heights planned for tomorrow are cancelled.

Abigail Adams Middle School Production of Guys & Dolls!

Please mark your calendars for the Abigail Adams Middle School production of Guys & Dolls!

This play will be performed Thursday, February 7th at 4:00 PM and Friday, February 8th at 7:00 PM in the Abigail Adams Auditorium.

Tickets are $7.00 for adults, $5.00 for students, and free for children age 5 and under.

Several of our scouts and our scout families are participating in this production and hope you can make it.

Pack 2 Webelos Visit to Troop 2

This evening several Webelos from Pack 2 visited Troop 2's weekly meeting. Our scouts presented roundtables including camping gear, knives and axes, historic memorabilia, and met with each of the Webelos to answer questions about our Troop and program. Thanks to the Den Leader for bringing them along, and to the Scoutmaster from Pack 2, Jim Aeita, for joining us.
