Troop 2 Weekly Meeting recap - 9/28

Troop 2 is back to meeting on a regular basis at the clubhouse. We had our first weekly meeting last night, and it was a full agenda of activities.

Weekly meeting recap - 9/28

- Egg Cooking Demo - Mr. Chase, Mr. Phillips, and Bill M. demonstrated cooking techniques for several egg dishes, including hard and soft boiled, poached, fried, and scrambled eggs.

- Eagle Scout packets were distributed to all Life Scouts.

- Mentoring assignments were provided to all advanced scouts.

- Knot tying was reinforced, and will be a focus for our weekly meetings.

- Scoutmaster conferences were held with several scouts to complete rank advancement requirements.

- Paperwork for Nuclear Science was passed in by many scouts. If you took this merit badge at Camp 2009 please follow up with Mr. Chase to assure you complete the remaining requirements soon.

- Several scouts completed Totin' Chip on the campout this weekend, and they will receive their card and patch at the next weekly meeting. This program is a knife and axe safety program, and is critical to developing proper handling skills for these camping implements.

- Handouts, sign up sheets and reminders for the Ski Trip ($135.00 for all skiers, adult and scout, due by Nov 2) the bike trip ($30.00 per person, due ASAP, event is Columbus Day weekend), the Whitmans Pond Canoe Trip (Oct 3rd) and the Great Pumpkin Give-a-Wey (Oct 3rd 12-4 pm at Town Hall) were distributed.

Our next meeting is Monday October 5th. Please continue to check this blog, and the troop website, for updates on our activities.
