Discussion of plans and venue

August event – Weston Park, Wessagusset School, Town Hall. Each has logistic positives and negatives. Plan is to consider all three and review availability and considerations from Mayor’s office. All scouting groups invited. No solicitation permitted – focus is on community services and programs offered by each organization.

Next steps

C McCabe – confirm availability of Immaculate Conception hall for April dates

K Curran – initiate contact and discuss venues with Lee Hultin/Mayors Office

M&M Carney’s – review announcement opportunities – bulletin boards, church bulletins, etc

L Schneider – Compile contacts for Weymouth Girl Scouts to gauge interest in Aug event

J Kelley – discuss options for commemorative book with Pepes (similar to postcard book)

J Keenan – Compile contacts for Weymouth BSA and Cubs to gauge interest in Aug event

B Chase – create letter to distribute to scouting organizations, scan photos and materials, fliers, signage, and card info (if BB can print 100 handout business cards with dates and contact info) – raising awareness

Also - if you know of anyone interested in participating in this effort, we have plenty of time, and plenty to do - I still need to assign staff and get assistance with developing a Troop History, planning sheet cakes, signage, contact names for troop, potential sponsor list, planning a Ron Parry recognition event, etc

Next Meeting – Feb 6, 2010 9:00 AM WHC (watch blog for any changes to that date)

Updates in interim to B Chase.
