Eagle Scout Program - Reminder

As a reminder – we have been consistently challenging our age Life scouts to make progress on their journey to Eagle scout. We meet on Mondays, and Thursdays at 7 PM, and have assembled a group of Eagle Scouts and Adult Leaders to help scouts with their proposals and paperwork. If you have any questions about the program, please contact us at troop2weymouth@gmail.com

With this school vacation week it’s a great time to explore opportunities for the Community Service project, and to focus on completing required badges, particularly Family Living, Personal Management and Personal Fitness, which have 90 day tracking requirements.

We’re hoping scouts will bring their Project Proposals to the next Eagle Scout Program meeting on Thursday March 1. Scouts who have already met with the group on Thursday evenings have follow up assignments that should be completed and ready for final presentation to the group.

Time runs out age 18. Service Projects and Project Reports must be fully completed at least TWO months before age 18 to allow time for review and submission. Starting in June the troop gears up for Summer Camp, and we ask that scouts plan accordingly.

Our goal is to help scouts along the trail to Eagle. We need parental participation and active follow through from Scouts to assist. Scouts are responsible and accountable for this work, and their own progress.

Keep in mind - this is a marathon, not a last minute sprint.  Plan accordingly. Be Prepared. The choice is yours.
