Troop 2 and the Weymouth Heights Club owe a great debt of gratitude and thanks to Eagle Scout Doug Tilden and the Tilden Family Fund at the East Bay Community Foundation, for significant financial donations and support of our troop and scouting programs. For the past several years Doug has quietly donated to our organization and his gifts provide timely aid for scouts in need each year. As we know, a scout is loyal, a scout is helpful, a scout is friendly and kind. Through his thoughtful generosity Doug embodies all of these characteristics.
Doug was a member of our troop in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s, and received his Eagle Scout in 1963. After a career in international transportation and commerce, he followed a passion for exploration as an archaeologist, most recently excavating Meso-American ruins and temples in Belize. He is a former trustee of the American Archaeological Institute, and continues to encourage and support educational outreach and cultural awareness across the globe. .
We are ever thankful for his gifts and kind words of encouragement.
Our Troop alumni, and the adult leaders who have gone before us, inspire us as they move forward in life. Donations large and small, in memorial or in direct support, are a great way to honor and help us continue the legacy of Troop 2, our Scoutmasters Franklin Pratt and Ron Parry, our fellow scouts, our parents and others who volunteered their time over the years and still do today as friends and supporters of our troop. Every gift helps.
