Troop 2 Update

Our theme of renewed focus on advancement and reinforcement of scouting basics continues this month and in march, and we’ll be working at the next two clubhouse meetings on requirements from Tenderfoot to First Class.

All scouts will participate and renew their knowledge of the basics of scouting.

We’ll continue this focus in March. Our senior scouts and Eagles will be working with Mr. Chase and Mr. Nardo through use of the EDGE method to demonstrate and enhance these necessary skills.

If your son is Scout/Tenderfoot/Second Class/First Class please get him to the meetings and events so he can advance. If he can’t make a meeting or event, please email us at troop2weymouth@gmail.com so we can keep track and follow up.
February is also the month when we observe Scout Sunday –Catholic observations were held at St Alberts Church on Sunday February 3rd, and will be held at The First Church Weymouth Heights on Sunday February 10th. As a reminder, the First Church has been a long and steadfast supporter of our Troop, and kindly offers us and the Pack use of their hall for Gym Nights and our Court of Honor. All scouts are strongly encouraged to attend in support of these institutions and to show reverence, an important part of the Scout Oath and Law.

We are also planning an indoor camping event where advancement skills will be included. If your son is working toward rank advancement, from Scout right through to Eagle, please get him to these events and to every scout meeting in February and March. Attendance is a critical factor in a scout’s achievement success.

Finally, as we’ve discussed at the Troop Committee Meetings, we have several events each month in conjunction with Troop 92 to direct our energies toward a successful joint summer camp at Cliff Island. These are shown on our calendar with the (T2/T92) indicator.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at troop2weymouth@gmail.com
