Bike trip update
Cost is $15.00
Please let us know at troop2weymouth@gmail.com if you will be unable to attend this event so we can confirm the accuracy of our headcount.
Headcount was gathered at our Monday meeting, we have 10 scouts and 5 adults attending so far, and encourage others who may be interested but unable to come Friday evening due to other commitments Saturday morning to come Saturday afternoon and join the troop for the evening meal and camping fellowship overnight.
Adults need to let us know in advance so we can ensure you are identified to the campmaster, and it's helpful to let us know arrival time so we can plan the meal properly.
Scouts should talk to Mr. Chase about how this trip helps them in earning the Cycling Merit Badge.
There is some mandatory equipment each scout needs to bring, including:
- Helmet - no boy will be allowed to ride without one
- Sleeping bag
- Ground pad
- Knife, fork, and spoon, cup and plate or bowl.
- Personal grooming kit & towel.
- Weekend worth of clothes - dress in light layers
- Rain gear
- Flashlight
- Sneakers or hiking boots
- Water bottle
Scouts should pack their gear in a bag or backpack so they can walk into the campground from the parking lot.
Also recommended:
- small string bag to carry items on the trail
- $5 - $10 spending money if the Camp Squanto store is open
- Hat and gloves
- Bug repellant
- Snacks for the rides (granola bars etc)
- Scouts should not bring video games, MP3 players or similar electronics.
Monday 5/13 our meeting will be at St Alberts to continue our joint planning activities for this trip. All bikes will need to be at the clubhouse by Thursday evening 5/16 to be packed in the trailer.

June Reminders - June 7/8/9 please join us for a weekend of Whitewater Rafting in Florida MA. Scouts are asked to RSVP May 20th, cost is $90.00, and we need a headcount asap to arrange carpools.
If you are unable to attend these events we ask that you let us know.
We plan events months in advance, with strong interest from scouts and adult leaders, and expect attendance when the date arrives.
Scouting is about more than just Monday meetings and Summer Camp, it's a year long program with campouts and other events. Attendance is taken at all events, and is considered as a part of advancement through eagle. Please keep in mind, if we don't see you at events and you aren't participating regularly in troop activities, you'll need to discuss attendance at Summer Camp with Mr. Chase in June.
