Troop 2 has a long history of wearing canvas leggings as part of our formal uniform during parades. In the past we wore green leggings, and moved to a white legging over time.
Some of our leggings are BSA issue, which was common in the 1950's and 1960's, seen in many early scout advertisements. Many of our larger sized leggings are military issue. Either way, they serve as a connection to our past.
No one who has ever worn them will forget the struggle to get them on correctly, the lacing, and the work required to tuck pants in properly and adjust them to fit comfortably.
Here are some photos of our scouts preparing for a parade, lacing up their leggings.
