All adults are encouraged to join the Troop and help the leadership guide the scouts along their path of advancement and learning. There are numerous opportunities available to participate, and we welcome all adults who are willing to help and participate.
Adult registration with Troop 2 is required for any overnight stays.
To be an adult volunteer in Troop 2 requires the following
- Completed BSA Adult application - http://www.scouting.org/filestore/pdf/524-501.pdf
- Completed Old Colony Council CORI form - http://www.oldcolonycouncil.org/Documents/2011-09-14_cori_form.pdf
- Photocopy of a valid driver’s license or ID
- Payment of $25.00 dues
- A completed BSA Medical Form - http://www.oldcolonycouncil.org/Documents/2011-09-26_BSA_Medical.pdf
Once registered, completion of Youth Protection training is mandatory. Information can be found at this location - http://www.scouting.org/training/youthprotection.aspx. This training must be completed every two years.
There are no exceptions, and these rules apply to ALL adults who wish to participate in our organization in any capacity.
BSA regulations do not permit unregistered adults to participate. These are not unreasonable requirements, and are necessary to ensure the safety of the scouts, the unit, the chartering organization, BSA, and each and every parent, scout, and volunteer.
Two deep leadership requires 2 REGISTERED adults with every contact with youth. One on one contact is prohibited. Proper registration and credentialing is required for anyone participating in the program.
