Dear Family and Friends of Troop 2 Scouts,
The annual Troop 2 Eagle Award and Troop Recognition Banquet is scheduled for May 19th at Immaculate Conception Church Hall. The hall opens at 5:30 PM.
Scoutmaster David Chase will present the Eagle award to Jonathan Hicks, Tyler Phillips, David Vallier Jr, Nicholas Chase, Alvin Schneider, Joshua Wallace, and Benjamin Murphy.
This is an annual event, and is our opportunity to formally present Scouting’s highest award, which all scouts are working hard to achieve, in front of the entire Troop and families. It’s important that we honor the accomplishment of the recipients, and we encourage you to attend as a family to show support for your son and his future achievements.
This dinner is for ALL members of the troop, and awards of merit badges and rank advancement will be presented to scouts as well.
A turkey dinner with all the trimmings, prepared by members of the Troop and Weymouth Heights Club will be served at 6 PM. We will also have pasta with butter available.
We ask that you bring a dessert, and if you want something other than bug juice, coffee or tea, bring that as well. Please do not bring alcoholic beverages as this is a Troop function and alcohol is not permitted.
Ticket cost is $6.00 per person.
Tickets must be purchased in advance for the dinner so we can prepare the proper amount of food and plan for the evening. Please note your son’s name and the number of attendees from your family at the bottom of this letter and send it back by Monday April 30th.
There will be raffles presented to support the Troop 2 Eagle Scout Scholarship – a traditional raffle and a 50/50 raffle. If you have any items to donate for the raffle, please let us know. Some of the donated items in the past have included gift cards for restaurants, hair salons, golf courses, and supermarkets as well as handmade quilts and personal services. It’s truly a great deal of fun with many opportunities for you to win.
In addition to the presentation of Eagle awards we will present rank advancement and merit badges to several members of the troop, the drum corps will perform, and local politicians and dignitaries will be present.
We hope to see you there. More details will be coming in the next few weeks.
Sincerely,
Brian Chase
