Troop 2 Annual Awards and Recognition Banquet Invitation

Dear Family and Friends of Troop 2 Scouts,

You are invited to join us for the Troop 2 Annual Awards and Recognition Banquet on May 11 at the Immaculate Conception Church Hall, beginning at 5:30 pm. This annual event is our opportunity to gather together to formally recognize and award the achievements of Troop 2 Scouts.

Scoutmaster David Chase will present the Scouting's highest award, the Eagle award to 4 young men who will join over 250 scouts who have earned the Eagle Scout Rank with Troop 2.  In addition to the presentation of Eagle awards, we will recognize and present rank advancements and merit badges to scouts and the Troop 2 Drum Corps will perform.

A turkey dinner with all the trimmings, prepared by members of the Troop and Weymouth Heights Club will be served at 6 pm.  Pasta with butter will also be available.   Bug juice, water coffee, and tea will be provided.  If you prefer a different beverage you are free to bring it. Please no alcoholic beverages as this is a Boy Scout function and alcohol is prohibited.   Kindly consider bringing a dessert for the dessert table.

Tickets are $10.00 and can be purchased in advance or ordered in advance and paid for at the door.   Although tickets may be picked up and paid for at the door, it is most helpful to know your family head count in advance so that we can plan and prepare the proper amount of food.  Please let us know in advance how many guests you will be bringing (initially an estimate is okay, to be firmed up as we get closer to the date).

During this event we will be conducting a raffle to support the Eagle Scout Scholarship Fund.  Last year, through the generous donations of Troop 2 families, we were able to raise over $800.00 and funded several Eagle Scout Scholarships. The Eagle Scout Scholarship is available to any scout who achieves the rank of Eagle Scout upon successful completion of a semester of higher education. Please consider donating an item to the raffle or partnering with another scout family to donate an item.   Another option this year is to consider making a small monetary contribution in lieu of an item.  The contribution can be any amount ($5-$10 or whatever you are comfortable with).  These contributions add up quickly and allow us to purchase a large raffle item.  Please send contributions to a weekly scout meeting with your son in a sealed envelope - clearly marked – “Eagle Scout Scholarship Raffle Contribution”. We also ask that you help us support this fund by purchasing raffle tickets at the event.

Kindly fill out the attached form and return to Troop 2 on Monday night or email information directly to troop2weymouth@gmail.com.

Sincerely,

Brian Chase
