1. Due to unexpected changes we are in need of volunteers to help tow two trailers to camp. This is a critical need, and if you help us out, please contact Mr. Chase immediately or discuss with him this evening. You can also reply to this email.
2. This evening beginning at 5:30 we will complete packing the gear for Summer Camp. We've already packed the watercraft for camp – rowboats, motorboats, canoes, kayaks, and the heavier gear, and have purchased or arranged most of the foodstuffs.
Thanks to all scouts and adults who have helped out. Preparation is always hectic, but the work is done and we are largely ready to go.
3. The gear will leave the clubhouse between 5 and 5:30 AM Saturday, and we’re expecting all scouts on the beach no later than 9 AM at Wellington State Park.
4. All scouts have been given their assignments (Beach, Boat or Island) to streamline our efforts.
5. We’ll break for lunch mid day once all equipment has been safely dropped on the Island, and will complete setup soon afterward.
Lunch will be provided by the troop, however we suggest your son bring a few bottles of water.
As of our final meeting we have 41 scouts and 22 adults planning to attend Summer Cam, and the early weather forecast looks excellent! Seasonable temps at Cliff Island can range as low as 60 degrees at night, so we suggest your son pack long pants, socks, and a warm sweatshirt or windbreaker.
If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Chase immediately.
