who join over 250 scouts who have earned the Eagle Scout Rank with Troop 2.
In addition to the presentation of Eagle awards, we will recognize and present rank advancements and merit badges to scouts and the Troop 2 Drum Corps will perform. All scouts are encouraged to attend with their families. There will be a $5.00 per person ticket charge at the door. (children under 10 are free)
4. Troop 2 Eagle Scholarship Raffle - The Troop 2 Annual Awards and Recognition Banquet will be held on March 21st, and as in the past we are asking scout families to help us fill the raffle table with items.
This raffle is the sole fundraiser for the Eagle Scout Scholarship. Last year, through the generous donations of Troop 2 families, we were able to raise over $800.00 and funded several Eagle Scout Scholarships. The Eagle Scout Scholarship is available to any scout who achieves the rank of Eagle Scout upon successful completion of a semester of higher education.
Your help is needed to make the year's raffle a success. Please consider donating an item to the raffle or partnering with another scout family to donate an item. Another option this year is to consider making a small monetary contribution in lieu of an item. The contribution can be any amount ($5-$10 or whatever you are comfortable with). These contributions add up quickly and allow us to purchase a large raffle item. Please send contributions to a weekly scout meeting with your son in a sealed envelope - clearly marked – “Eagle Scout Scholarship Raffle Contribution”.
Past items have run the gamut from gift cards, gift certificates to local establishments and services, outdoor equipment and scouting items, gift baskets and handmade items. Personal services have included boat rides and cooking lessons. A big hit item has been a free week at camp and a free ski trip. Tickets to Red Sox and Revolution games are also a perennial favorite.
We would like to receive all items by Friday, March 13. Items and contributions can be brought to any Monday night scout meeting or can be dropped off at 79 Front Street.
