Troop 2 Announcements 6/23

Reminder - Summer Camp at Cliff Island in NH will be held from July 25 to August 2 - all scouts and adult leaders (anyone over the age of 18) planning to attend were required to RSVP for this event, via email or in person, by  June 15th. 
Camp is $240 for the week ($30 per day) and payments are due NO LATER THAN 7/20/2015

June 27- Campout  - location changed to Weymouth, not overnight

This event will start at the clubhouse at 9 AM. We will be using the Emery Estate to setup camp and will be done by 12 noon.  Please pick up the scouts at noon at the clubhouse.

We will be setting up Summer Camp wall tents and all the gear that goes in, parents are welcome and encouraged to attend to help set expectations for your scout.

July 13 - Clubhouse  - 7:30 PM - preparation for summer camp – Tent Partners, paperwork due, parents of scouts attending camp for the first time, or parents with questions, should attend this meeting.

July 20 - Clubhouse  - 7:30 PM - preparation for summer camp – Final Payments due

August 3 - Clubhouse - unpacking from camp
August 10 - Gym Night/Outdoor activity - location TBD
August 17 - Gym Night/Outdoor activity - location TBD

September 7 - No meeting
September 14 - Clubhouse - Full Uniforms - back to school year schedule.


July 6th East Coast Gaming Trailer- Video games – adults planning to attend camp are asked to report to the clubhouse to discuss plans for the week.

September: CAMP 2015 Badge Presentation (Location TBD)
September 25th -27th – District Camporee – Zombie Apocalypse Camp out
October Hike - locations suggested include the Blue Hills, Freedom Trail, Pirate Trek in Lynn
November 14th.  Flag Retirement 2015 will be held in Weymouth this year-  details to follow.

As a reminder, any questions or concerns regarding program participation, adult leaders, policies, procedures and finances should be directed to the Troop Committee Chair, Brian Chase.

Any questions, concerns, suggestions or considerations for scouts, including merit badges, rank advancement/ progress reports, Eagle Scout and leadership process, and troop operations should be directed to the Scoutmaster, David Chase.

Troop Committee meetings are held every month, typically coinciding with Gym Night, and all troop members are urged to attend to have input into the program.
