Attendance reminder - Advancement and event participation is driven by attendance. Our Scribe takes
attendance at our meetings and events. Scouts are required to participate in
our events, including gym nights, parades, flagging, awards nights, and our flag
retirement ceremony in order to be eligible to attend Summer Camp and the Ski
Trip, as well as other significant events throughout the year. Minimal attendance may result in wait listing for events.
Announcements
1. Annual Membership Renewal starts in
November - all adults must complete
mandatory Youth Protection training to be registered. This is our annual
registration period - if you plan to participate in any activities during the
calendar year you must register during this period. Off cycle renewals are only
available for parents of new scouts or scouts turning 18 during the year. If
you have questions, please email troop2weymouth@gmail.com
2. Scouts interested in the God &
Country religious award or the Ad Altare Dei/ Pope Pius XII awards, please see
Mr. Chase or email troop2weymouth@gmail.com
3. Our annual awards and recognition
banquet, and award of Eagle Rank, will be held April 9th at
Immaculate Conception Parish Center.
4. Our annual Ski Trip will be
held at Shawnee Peak, Maine, from Friday evening, January 8th - Sunday January
10th.
Cost will be $150.00 per skier ($40.00 for non-skiers). There is a restricted number of participants for this event due to the accommodations, so we ask for a firm headcount at our Gym Night on November 2nd.
This event books fast, and we will have a waiting list available. We are limited to 40 participants for this event.
We also need a few adults to help with cooking and transportation, and on the mountain. We're fortunate to have enough adult coverage for our events, and for the ski trip the number of adult members required may be limited. All registered adults are welcome to sign up for the ski trip, however we may restrict the number of attendees to those needed to ensure the event is successful. A mandatory meeting for all Adults planning to attend the ski trip will be held in late December during our monthly Troop Committee meeting.
Families are encouraged to join us for the weekend to take advantage of the group skiing rates. All are welcome for dinner on Saturday night at the Shawnee Peak House.
Scouts will stay at the Shawnee Peak House, and families can arrange accommodations nearby - a suggestion is to check the Pleasant Mountain Inn in nearby Bridgton, Maine, or accommodations in North Conway NH which is less than 15 miles away from the mountain.
Carpooling for transportation to and from this event is suggested.
All forms and payments must be returned by Monday, 11/16
