West Point Reminders



Thursday evening drop off full uniform (shirt, pants, neckerchief, slide) LABELED and on a hanger, in a plastic bag
Departure – Bus Leaves PROMPTLY at 9 AM Friday – scouts must assemble at 8:30 AM
Return Sunday, around 4 PM  - notice will be sent to the mail list and posted as the bus nears Weymouth

Packing List for WEST POINT 2016
Temperatures can vary between 50 degrees and 90 degrees, with wind and rain always a possibility. Pack accordingly. For best results, put clothing in Ziploc bags to keep it dry, and send along a few trash bags to put dirty clothes in. Please pack troop/camp shirts if you have them.
All clothing other than your uniform must fit in your backpack, along with your sleeping bag and pad
·         Boots for the hike into the camp (so wear them, tie your sneakers to the backpack or put them inside)
·         Sneakers  - lighter weight style dry best
·         Bathing Suit
·         Bowl, knife, fork, spoon cup in a mesh bag for storage
·         4 pairs of socks
·         4 pairs of underwear
·         1 pair of long pants – lighter fabrics dry fasters
·         1 pair of shorts
·         3 T-Shirts
·         1 sweatshirt
·         Lightweight jacket, waterproof, and raingear (poncho)
·         Sunscreen, chapstick, etc
·         Hat
·         Wash kit – soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, facecloth, small towel, shampoo, baby wipes
·         Sleeping bag and Sleeping Pad
·         Pocketknife – Folding please, no Sheath Knives
·         Flashlight, with extra batteries. Bring two since they get misplaced regularly
·         Camera if you like
·         Canteen or water bottle
·         Personal First Aid Kit
·         Extra Ziploc bags and trash bags
·         Prescriptions (*note, must be given to the Scoutmaster)
·         Spare eyeglasses
·         Contact phone numbers
Cash ($20-30 for incidentals, bus stops, trading post – Troop will provide a collectible patch and neckerchief)
