Saturday 1/13 and Monday 1/15 Plans

Klondike Derby Practice for Troop 2 Boy Scouts will be held in the afternoon, from 1:30 to 3:30 on Saturday  1/13 and 1/20 at the Clubhouse. The Boy Scout Klondike Derby is 1/27 at Camp Squanto in Plymouth.

Currently we have 8-10 scouts actively engaged and will close registration on Monday 1/15, so please be sure to connect with Mr. Chase if you want to be part of the sled team. We have two sleds available, and each is typically crewed by 8-10 scouts, so there is plenty of space remaining.

We encourage ALL scouts to attend the event to cheer the Troop 2 team on, and remind all scouts that this is part of Scout Spirit as well as an opportunity to complete advancement requirements.

For our these practices, and our Monday meetings during the month of January, please wear "Class B" uniforms - tshirt, sweatshirt, old clothes, boots, warm coat, gloves, hat - we will be working AS A TROOP on winter outdoor scouting skills, in the building, garage and outside.

Scouts should dress appropriate for the weather, bring a flashlight, and their personal knife.

On Monday, 1/15, we will not have a formal scout meeting, as we do not meet when there are school holidays, snow days, etc - However, we will have an informal meeting, similar to our meeting this past Monday, to work on outdoor camping skills. Scouts are under no obligation to attend, however they're encouraged to participate in this skill building exercise if they're available and interested.
