Two items were discussed and resolved at our monthly Troop Committee meeting
- Our spring Awards and Recognition/Eagle Scout Award Banquet will not be held in May. We will reschedule this event for later this year.
- Troop 2 presents a scholarship to each of our Eagle scouts who pursues post secondary education. We've changed the requirements to include a formal application, which is available at the clubhouse. Applicants must complete a short essay, and send other details in their application to the Troop. Please contact the troop at troop2weymouth@gmail.com with any questions.

1. Scout Day at Fenway Park -

There are very limited tickets available, so we need a headcount immediately. If you're interested in attending, please email us at troop2weymouth@gmail.com. We're planning to sit in the Bleachers as a group. Tickets are $27.
This event will be closed/waiting list only after our meeting on March 3.

4. Adult Members, please note
We're planning a mandatory Adult meeting to review changes in BSA policies and complete a program of Youth Protection Training to ensure compliance with standards.
More information will be available soon. All registered Adults will be required to attend this meeting. This Adult meeting will most likely be scheduled for a Sunday afternoon, and will run for approximately 3 hours. If you do not attend the meeting you not have completed training, and will be suspended from Troop activities.
5. Summer Camp
We hope that all scouts will be able to join us for Summer Camp 2014 at Cliff Island, on beautiful Newfound Lake in scenic Bristol, New Hampshire.
Camp will be held from Saturday, July 26th until Sunday August 3rd.
Please save the date
Adults, if you are interested in attending camp to help support our Scoutmaster and the scouts, please see Mr. Brian Chase.
Adults roles at camp are assigned in the spring to allow sufficient time to prepare for the week.
All help is appreciated. We typically need 15-20 adults to attend for a successful camp, particularly on the two weekends to help us set up, and we encourage interested adults to join us in the spring to understand the goals of the program and the needs of the scouts.
Roles are assigned on the basis of your RSVP, and if all positions are filled Adults will be placed on a waiting list based on need.
6. Working on Merit Badges
Please
note - scouts are encouraged to work on merit badges at their own speed.
We frequently offer classes for many badges at the clubhouse and at events -
robotics, citizenships, etc - however scouts should also review and follow
their interests to discover new things - there are over 130 merit badges out
there, each with it's own set of requirements.
