Troop 2 received terrible news on
Monday March 13th that John Lonergan had passed away.
JL was an active member of Troop 2
for over 70 years, lapsing membership only when he served in the Armed Service
during the Korean Conflict.
JL was many things to us all - he
taught us to swim and rescue those who could not, he challenged us to hike
mountains and see the country. He was a mentor, a teacher, and a friend. He always showed
us the way, patiently taught us, and worked hard to make the world better. His
loss leaves a void that can never be filled.
His
wishes were for no wake or funeral. A celebration of his life is planned for a
later date.
