All Scouts registered with the Troop for 2011 received a special edition Troop 2 Unit Numeral patch at the meeting this evening.
This patch, created in recognition of the kickoff of our 100th anniversary celebration incorporates elements of historic patches, both in it's size which is similar to the ones used in the 1940's - 1960's as seen in photos of Ron Parry and various photos of the Troop in action, and in the numeral itself, which is an older style 2 in a metallic bronze color, similar to numerals from the earlier scouting periods.
The patch background is an antiqued red color, which captures the historic brick red color of patches from the 1970's - 1990's.
The 100th bar is incorporated directly into the patch and replaces the seperate bar device that would be mounted between the Council Shoulder Patch and the Unit Numeral.
Scouts should place this on their uniform in place of their unit numeral as soon as possible, and should remove their current 2, as well as any bar devices (latest may be a 95 on the uniform).
If you are interested in purchasing these commemorative patches as a keepsake or gift, a limited quantity are available for a $10.00 donation.
