Following up on our Committee Meeting last evening, we discussed participation and attendance issues with the February events, including the Scout Sunday observations which were sparsely attended and the camp in event which was also poorly attended.
Please keep in mind, participation is crucial to success and advancement for all scouts. Our adult leaders are putting time and effort into a program for your benefit and based on your input. We're happy for all attendees who participate, however we'd like to see more scouts showing up for events, meetings, and public performances.
In March there are several events in conjunction with Pack 2 and with Troop 92, that we're asking scouts and families to attend, including our Court of Honor for 11 Eagle Scouts, and the Troop 92 Meat Raffle on March 9th.
Please let us know if there are other activities or events you're interested in. We've offered camping experiences, rock climbing, MassJam, and other Boy Scouting events, with initial RSVP's indicating strong interest only to see a limited number of participants.
Our big event in the spring is a whitewater rafting trip June 7 to the 9th in Florida, MA. This will be a first for us, and we are hopeful scouts will participate.
We ask that you do your best to attend these events, and if you are not going to be able to make it because of a conflict with sports, family plans, or illness, please have the courtesy to let us know at troop2weymouth@gmail.com so we can plan accordingly.
